Cash or cheque transactions

Basic Transactions

This topic outlines how to complete a transaction in Fred NXT POS with a cash tender type.

Process a transaction

  1. Log on to Fred NXT POS using preferred method.
  2. Scan or select the products to be purchased.

    To add multiple quantities of a product :

    • Scan the product multiple times.

      • — or —

    • Tap the quantity amount, then * (multiply), then scan the product.

    For three units of a products, tap 3 *, then scan the product.

    To tender the transaction:

    • Tap the Pay Cash tender tile.

      • — or —

    • Tap Exact to complete the transaction for the exact dollar value in cash.

      • The Tender window is displayed.

    If the customer is paying using cash, select the Pay Cash tender tile. If the customer is paying via cheque, select the Cheque tender tile.

  3. Enter the cash payment amount received, then tap OK.

    — or —

    Tap the Payment Amount tile to complete the transaction for the exact payment value in cash.

    The transaction is now complete.

    • The customer change amount (if any) is displayed.
    • The cash drawer opens.
    • The receipt is printed.
    • Fred NXT POS returns to the main screen, ready for the next transaction.
