Complimentary ScriptMAP 2020 subscription for Guild Members

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia has provided complimentary ScriptMAP 2020 subscriptions to guild members for the 2018-2019 financial year.

ScriptMAP 2020 is a financial forecasting product that provides pharmacy owners with a customised analysis of the impact of PBS reforms on their pharmacy out to 2020.

Pharmacies can access the complimentary subscription through a unique access code that was sent to the registered email address for financial member pharmacies. If you have not received the email at your member pharmacy by 25 August, contact the Pharmacy Guild member services team on 03 9810 9999.

For details on how to Run a ScriptMAP report from Fred Dispense, see ScriptMAP 2020.

S8 dispensing in South Australian now requires the patient's date of birth

If your pharmacy is in South Australia, when you select a Schedule 8 drug during dispensing, you may be prompted to enter the date of birth for the selected patient. If the selected patient's date of birth is already recorded, you will not be prompted.

For more details, see Providing date of birth when dispensing S8 drugs (South Australia requirements).

Ability to add unlisted compounder

Each month, the compounder list in Fred Dispense is reviewed and amended. If a compounder listing is not available from DHHS in time for the monthly Fred Dispense update, then it will be provided the following month.

In the meantime, a compounder can be added to Fred Dispense to allow chemotherapy scripts to be dispensed. For more details, see Adding an unlisted compounder.

Registrations for SafeScript are now open

Invitations to register for SafeScript were sent on 14 August to practitioners whose primary place of practice is within the Western Victoria Primary Health Network (WVPHN). Other practitioners are still welcome to register at www.safescript.vic.gov.au. The registration process normally takes around ten minutes and is best done from a tablet or computer web browser.

Access to SafeScript will be available from October 2018. The initial rollout of SafeScript will be focused on sites within WPVHN. However, all practitioners will be able to access SafeScript when it is available. General rollout to the rest of Victoria will start in January 2019.

For more information, see the SafeScript page on the Health Victoria website or watch the Introducing SafeScript video.

Improved ability to dispense a script from a podiatrist

There is a new Prescriber Type, <P>, that you can select when dispensing a script from a podiatrist. When you select a podiatrist, the Script Type changes to Private.

For more details, see Dispense a script from a podiatrist.
