What's New in Fred Dispense?

CTG - Updated in Patient Details

From 1 July 2021, CTG eligibility must be set in Patient Details (F8). Previously, CTG eligibility was recorded for each script.

From the Patient Details screen, select the CTG Registered checkbox to turn on CTG eligibility. See Set up a Patient for Closing the Gap for more details.

Once Patient Details have been updated and the CTG Registered checkbox is selected, CTG displays at the top of the Patient Details screen, above Age.

All eligible scripts for the CTG patient will be dispensed at the CTG Price and will display a CTG code as shown below.

Continuing Medication Program (CMP)

The Continuing Medication Program assists people who are homeless and require assistance with accessing PBS medications. Patients presenting with a script displaying a CMP code are eligible for medicine at reduced prices.

From 1 July 2021, participating pharmacies will now be able to claim via PBS Online.

CMP is subject to the following rules:

  • Only applies to participating pharmacies.

  • Only applies to Concession or DVA patients. Does NOT apply to General patients, nor for General Patients reaching Safety Net Concession.

  • Only applies to Section 85 drugs in the Main PBS Schedule. Does NOT apply to S100 drugs, items under IVF program or Chemotherapy drugs.

  • Does NOT flow on to subsequent repeats, i.e., it is for a single supply only.

The CMP should not be confused with Continued Dispensing.

Real Time Reporting - Owing Markoff (Tasmania)

The Date and Time Dispensed in Real Time Reporting now accurately reflects when the prescription was dispensed. Previously, performing an Owing Markoff was changing the Date and Time Dispensed in Real Time Reporting.

MySL Status Checking

The performance of the MySL Status Checking for a patient has been improved in this release.

Important reminder for department stocktakes

If you plan to do a department stocktake, make sure that all product items are assigned to a department. Otherwise, items will be missing from your stock count.

The new tool – called Fred AID, which stands for Artificial Intelligence Directions – uses artificial intelligence to predict medication directions. The tool allows pharmacists to quickly and safely enter directions for dispensing labels, using a shortcut to copy or edit directions rather than typing these from scratch… Read more
