Quantum Connect for Fred Dispense Plus
MPS
The Quantum Connect integration for Fred Dispense Plus enables connectivity with MPS software and databases and includes support for use of NXTQ.
The Integration
-
Does:
-
Utilise on-premise software.
-
Require access to patient sensitive data.
-
-
When enabled, sensitive information is made available by Fred and through Fred Dispense Plus to MPS without any user actions.
-
To request and/or authorise Fred to facilitate access to Fred Dispense Plus data, navigate to https://fred.au/sda and complete the online form. This same form can be used in requesting Termination or Reset of credentials.
Authorisation
The Quantum Connect for Fred Dispense Plus integration requires authorisation provided as follows:
- Time period: Forever (until notified of end)
- Data is: Personally Identifiable
Upon authorisation from the pharmacy being received and validated, Fred notifies MPS that the integration is ready to proceed and provides credentials that facilitate store data access. Customers receive a notification to advise of completion by Fred.
AppBar
AppBar integration methods used by MPS have real-time awareness of dispensing actions that are occurring for a script being dispensed, including the patient being dispensed to, the prescriber selected, medications being dispensed (or edited) and quantities. The dispensing or editing of scripts event information is used to influence the patients virtual pill counts for the medication as maintained within MPS software.
MPS subscribe for each dispense event, however a subset of events is used proactively within the integration.
MPS subscribes to the following Dispense Events |
||
---|---|---|
|
|
|
* Events are used in delivery of content contained within the event payload to MPS databases.
# Events contain information that is personally identifiable and as such is sensitive, including Patient and Prescriber identifiers and medication information.
Cloud API: Medication Management
Bulk extraction of data occurs via Cloud API, where identifiable sensitive data related to Patients, Prescribers, Scripts, Facilities & Products is initiated by the on-premise software. Data returned by the Medication Management API passes through cloud services managed by MPS and is stored in on-premise databases.
Initial extraction involves collection of data for all Patients, Prescribers, Facilities and Patients. Script data for the period 12 months from initial extraction. Additional extractions occur each 3 hours for all areas (with the exception of Product), the additional requests obtain records modified since the previous call; this enables retrieval of both edited and new entries. Product information is queried once every 24 hour period and is a full extract.
NXTQ (Create)
Using extracted data, the MPS solution provides the pharmacy with a view of scripts to have repeats dispensed (to increase the virtual pill count). Selected scripts are added to the pharmacies dispensing queue within NXTQ. Dispensing can occur via selection of the script using the NXTQ interface or by pressing CTRL Dot within Fred Dispense Plus.
Support and Scope
MPS resources are responsible for processes required for initial deployment, configuration and ongoing maintenance required. No additional Fred Dispense Plus configuration is required from Fred for this integration to function.
Upon authorisation from the pharmacy being received and validated, Fred notifies MPS that the integration is ready to proceed and provides credentials that facilitate store data access. Customers receive a notification to advise of completion by Fred.
The Fred Help team are available to provide mutual customers with assistance that relates to Fred Dispense Plus operations use, including any troubleshooting associated with the integration methods provided by Fred.
