myDoseAid for Fred Dispense Plus
DoseAid
The myDoseAid integration for Fred Dispense Plus enables connectivity with myDoseAid software.
The integration:
- Does:
- Utilise the myDoseAid on-premise software.
- Require access to patient sensitive data.
- Does Not:
- Include a user facing interface within Fred Dispense Plus.
- Utilise real-time data integration points.
- When enabled, sensitive information is made available by Fred and through Fred Dispense Plus to DoseAid without any user actions via Cloud API's.
- To request and/or authorise Fred to facilitate access to Fred Dispense Plus data, navigate to https://fred.au/sda and complete the online form. This same form can be used in requesting Termination or Reset of credentials.
Integration Features
- Regular (per hour) extraction of data from Fred Dispense Plus:
- Facilities
- Patients within Facilities
- Scripts of Patients within Facilities
- 12 months for initial load
- 1 month for recurring extraction (#1)
- Prescribers
Real-time integration is not included within initial integration availability as created by DoseAid. There is no AppBar app for passing of Scripts Completed and Edited in Fred Dispense Plus to DoseAid software.
(#1) Recurring extraction of 1 month of scripts, each hourly interval, has been accepted by Fred for pilots and/or limited time period but will be updated by DoseAid’s software vendor to use approaches which reduce extraction load.
Authorisation
The myDoseAid for Fred Dispense Plus integration requires authorisation provided as follows:
- Time period: Forever (until notified of end)
- Data is: Personally Identifiable
Upon authorisation from the pharmacy being received and validated, Fred notifies DoseAid that the integration is ready to proceed and provides credentials that facilitate store data access; this includes pharmacy identifying information as provided within the authorisation form. Customers receive a notification to advise of completion by Fred.
Privacy
DoseAid allows pharmacies to import patients from Fred Dispense Plus into myDoseAid to reduce double data entry. This includes patient name, date of birth, address, phone, identification numbers like Medicare, scripts, etc. If a prescriber has been linked to a patient that prescriber's details (name, address, prescriber number, contact details). DoseAid also brings in scripts so pharmacies can import them to update patient virtual pill balances.
The myDoseAid database is located on pharmacy premise giving the pharmacy control over who has access. Pharmacies may allow access to third party like aged care software vendors. These vendors will specify what information is required.
Orders sent to DoseAid include minimum information required to facilitate packing. This includes information to identify the pharmacy, patients, and drug details per administration time.
DoseAid’s privacy policy can be found at https://www.doseaid.com.au/assets/Uploads/Footer/DoseAid-Privacy-Policy-09052023.pdf
Cloud API: Medication Management
Bulk extraction of data occurs via Cloud API, where identifiable sensitive data related to Facilities, Patients, Scripts and Prescribers is initiated by the on-premise software. Data returned by the Medication Management API is returned to the store using secured methods and is stored in on-premise databases used by myDoseAid using database technology secured and maintained by the pharmacies IT provider.
Initial extraction involves collection of data for all Facilities and Prescribers. Where a Facility is serviced within the myDoseAid software related Patients will be extracted. Script data for these patients, for the preceding 12 months, is extracted. Additional extractions occur each 3 hours for all areas. The additional requests obtain records modified since the previous call; this enables retrieval of both edited and new entries; the exception being scripts, where for pilot, 3 months of scripts will be extracted at each 3 hourly interval.
NXTQ
NXTQ is not used with the myDoseAid integration for queuing scripts in Fred Dispense Plus.
