FAQs

What images can be used?

The App settings contain a pre-set selection of images that can be used to display on the tile.

Can I change the image colour?

Not currently. Future enhancements may support greater range and/or flexibility with images and colours that can be used.

When I open Google I get a message about updating my browser…

The Chromium (not Chrome) browser utilised by Fred NXT has been road mapped for being updated. The user can close the notification which does not reappear.

Can I have more than 5 shortcuts?

We have released 5 Webpage Shortcuts at this point, interest in additional tiles should be raised via the Ideas Portal. https://webhelp.fred.com.au/nxt/Apps/app-bar-ideas-portal.htm

Why is my webpage not showing when clicking the Tile?

Check that a URL has been entered. It is possible to exit the AppBar Manager Add process without entry of a URL value. If a URL has been entered and is not working (and other URLs are), report the problem URL via Fred Support.

Why do I have to re-enter credentials associated with [Your Website] each time?

Credentials information when entered into a website can be cached, so that you don't have to continually re-enter information, this is a common occurrence with web browsers. The information cached through use of the browser panel within Fred NXT is cleared on starting Fred NXT by design. It is possible for third parties to create AppBar apps that facilitate automated log on and log off. Interested parties can be referred to https://www.fred.com.au/support/dev/ for engagement related to accessing Fred NXT development resources.
