Overview
The diagram provides a high level view of integration elements.
There is a unique relationship that exists between the EFT POS Register Number, Pinpad (Serial Number) and Cloud Id. The EFT POS Register Number and Cloud Id remain consistent once configured, however the Pinpad serial number associated with these values can be updated by Quest when required.
Pharmacy Group / Enterprise Head Office
Each POS register that will use Quest requires having an EFT provider set (via hardware profile) and creation of a unique EFT POS register number
- Go to POS Hardware Profile > EFT Service > EFT Provider, select Quest.
- Go to FredNXT Head Office > Organisations > POS registers to identify the unique EFT POS register number.
Store
Each terminal requires deployment and configuration of additional software and drivers, these are provided to Fred by Quest.
- Quest Cloud EFTPOS Wedge
- Quest Payment Terminal Drivers
Transaction Processing Screens
Power or POS Failure
When a sale is in progress and the user selects Pay Card, the Quest Purchase dialog is displayed prompting user to Swipe, Insert or Tap, this is undertaken and processing commences. Pinpad communication to bank has commenced. If there is a power or POS failure at this time the pinpad continues to function, receiving either an approved or other negative results. The POS has no awareness of bank response, the pinpad displays cancelled unable to print.
As a user there is uncertainty around the approval state of the transaction.
When the POS is restarted, we have built in awareness around the crash and the user is taken directly to the transaction screen for the sale that was in progress. POS queries Quest for the last receipt.
When the User presses a key the last receipt result is delivered to the printer, to provide awareness of the outcome, so as to enable decision about reprocessing or not the EFT tender.
