Release Notes

Welcome to the July 2017 release of Fred Dispense.

Set NHS/OTC Prices for Different Quantities of an Under Co-Payment NHS Item

For full details about this new feature, see the help topic: Set NHS/OTC Prices for Different Quantities of an Under Co-Payment NHS Item

Some drugs are listed on the PBS under multiple codes that represent different quantities of the same product. These codes are represented by a single drug listing in Fred Dispense

For example, ELEUPHRAT CRM 0.05% 15g has six PBS item codes representing quantities of 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 respectively.

Previously, entering a set NHS / OTC price for this type of item would cause the under co-payment prices for multiple quantities to be calculated incorrectly. To work around this, we recommended setting up a drug note to remind you of the correct price to manually apply for each quantity during dispensing.

From 1 July 2017, you can now safely set a different NHS / OTC price for each quantity. To do this, click the new ellipsis button (...) next to the NHS / OTC Price field on the drug card.

The ellipsis (...) button next to the NHS Gen / OTC price field displays in blue when prices for multiple quantities have been set.

During Dispensing, if you select a drug that is under co-payment, and has a set price for the lowest quantity, but not for other quantities, a new pop-up message is displayed. To set prices for the other quantities, click Yes.

The Brand Price Premium is not added on top of a set NHS / OTC price; Fred Dispense assumes that you have taken the BPP into account when deciding on your set pricing.

UFS member discounts are applied to set NHS / OTC prices for under co-payment scripts.

Fixes in this release

Fred Dispense Messenger button displays a message count that doesn't match the Messenger window

Some pharmacies have noticed their Fred Dispense Messenger button displaying a message count that does not match up to the number of messages listed when they open Messenger.

This incorrect count was caused by routine Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) maintenance messages being stored in the background.

The July 2017 update will clean up any historical IHI maintenance messages, and Fred Dispense will no longer store these messages.
