Enter a Patient's Suburb and Postcode
When adding patient details into Fred Dispense, the Suburb and Postcode are recorded as part of the patients address details. Fred Dispense has a Suburb and Postcode database to streamline this process.
You can also Set up the most popular suburbs and postcodes to the Function keys (F1 to F12) for use when adding new Patients.
- During dispensing, display the Add New Patient Details or Edit Existing Patient Details screen and begin entering or updating the patient details as required.

Press [Tab] to move the cursor to the Suburb field.
The Function key menu displays as shown below.
- Do one of the following:
- If the suburb you want is listed: Press the corresponding Function key to select a Suburb/Postcode from the popular Suburb and Postcode list.
- If the suburb you want is not listed:
Begin typing the Suburb name or the Postcode. The Suburbs and Postcodes database will display.
By default, this will only show the Suburbs and Postcodes for your state. Press F3 and the Suburbs and Postcodes will display for all states.
- Use the Up and Down arrows and press ENTER or double click with the mouse to select a Suburb and corresponding Post Code.

Access Suburbs and Postcodes for Other States
There are two methods available for accessing Suburbs and Postcodes from other states:
- Press F3 and the Suburbs and Postcodes will display for all states.
- Set up a Dispense Option that automatically controls which suburbs appear each time the Suburbs and Postcodes database is used. Refer to Set up which states display when using suburb or postcode search.
