Release Notes

New in Fred Dispense Plus

Fred Dispense Plus automatically applies both software and drug updates. No user intervention is required, but please ensure that your server PC is always switched on as automatic updates are applied outside of business hours.

Private Price Markup & Fee Levels – Drug, Patient, Facility

You can now configure Fee and Markup levels against Drug, Patient, and Facility.

If multiple levels apply to a particular script, the priority is Patient, Drug and then Facility.

Improved ScanCheck using Datamatrix

A GS1 DataMatrix barcode is a 2 dimensional barcode that can store more information (expiry, batch, serial number) than a traditional 1D barcode. DataMatrix barcodes are becoming more common on medications and look like the image below.

GS1 Data matrix codes can now be used during the ScanCheck process. When scanned, expiry and batch information are returned.

In the event the scanned drug is short-dated or expired, you will be alerted.

Lists Menu

A new Lists menu has been added to the top of the screen. It provides quick and convenient access to commonly used commands. The below options have been removed from the Administration screen and are now available from the Lists menu:

  • Prescribers

  • Drugs

  • Own Brand Drugs

  • Facilities

  • Sigs

Quick Drug Pricing (F7)

You can now click on the pencil icon to edit a drug (e.g. set prices or drug notes) in context from Quick Drug Pricing.

FinalCheck and PBS Reason Codes

The FinalCheck screen now displays any PBS reason codes. Click on the reason codes to see the full text description

Fred Help Portal

From the 1st of May, the Fred Help Portal now launches in a separate window allowing users to switch between Fred Dispense Plus application and Fred Help Portal.

Fixed in Fred Dispense Plus

Padding Hospital Provider Number to 8 characters

A fix has been implemented to automatically pad the Hospital Provider Number to 8 characters with zeroes if required.

Script editing - changing script type from PBS to non-PBS for an outside repeat

A fix has been implemented to ensure patient price does not change to $0.00 when editing a script which was dispensed from an outside repeat and changing script type from PBS to Non-PBS.

Robotic dispensing of an eRx prescription

The robot drug indicator now appears as expected when dispensing an eRx script.
