POSX / DISPX / Marketeer e-commerce for Fred Dispense Plus

Intellipharm

Intellipharm have multiple extraction utilities that work with Fred Dispense Plus, these are POSX, DISPX and Marketeer, which utilise integration methods provided by Fred for Fred Dispense Plus. The integration enables de-identified data within Fred Dispense Plus to be collected by Intellipharm enabling business intelligence, analytics, loyalty and e-commerce. The integration may be required based on a pharmacies agreement with other parties.

  • This integration does not include a user facing interface within Fred Dispense Plus.
  • When enabled, information is made available by Fred to Intellipharm via extraction utilities which are installed by Intellipharm onto computers within the pharmacy.
  • To request and/or authorise Fred to facilitate access to Fred Dispense Plus data, navigate to https://fred.au/sda and complete the online form. This same form can be used in requesting Termination or Reset of credentials.

Schedule & Frequency

The extraction of data (from Fred Dispense Plus) to pharmacy and supply (Pharmacy to Intellipharm) uses software that is installed onto pharmacy computers by Intellipharm. Extraction software will share processing power and internet bandwidth with other applications installed, including Fred Dispense Plus.

The software uses approaches agreed with Fred which seek to minimise duplicated data collection, where an initial load of data (in monthly blocks) up to 24 months is then supplemented with daily data (additions and edits).

Extraction occurs on a daily basis between 12am and 4am (pharmacy local time). With the exception of Marketeer which extracts Stocks information on an hourly basis.

Authorisation

The Intellipharm (POSX / DISPX / MARKETEER) integration with Fred Dispense Plus requires authorisation provided as follows:

  • Time period: Forever (until notified of end)
  • Data is: Not Personally Identifiable

In order to provide solutions to mutual customers, Intellipharm has software tools that extract data from pharmacies dispense and POS systems.

Credentials provided by Fred for use within POSX, DISPX or MARKETEER required in accessing pharmacy data are encrypted by Intellipharm. Access to credentials is restricted to employees of Intellipharm.

Data in transit between the API, pharmacy and Intellipharm is secured. Data is stored within a cloud database managed by Intellipharm located in Australia using services provided by Microsoft. Data access is restricted to employees of Intellipharm. Data extracted from Fred Dispense Plus by Intellipharm is also stored locally (encrypted) for 30 days.

Intellipharm supply de-identified data to third parties based on the agreement between the third party and the pharmacy.

Agreements between the pharmacy and Intellipharm specifically mention parties which have access to data. The pharmacy will have understanding of end points for data beyond the extraction.

Support and Scope

Intellipharm resources are responsible for processes associated with installation of software required for initial configuration and ongoing maintenance required to collect data. No additional Fred Dispense Plus configuration is required from Fred for this integration to function.

Upon authorisation from the pharmacy being received and validated, Fred notifies Intellipharm that the integration is ready to proceed and provides credentials that facilitate store data access. Customers receive a notification from Fred to advise of completion. Intellipharm are provided a weekly report by Fred which provides insight into the stores which have requested Intellipharm be provided credentials (and termination of credentials), this report enables Intellipharm to understand the status and closure state of requests made to Fred. Where Intellipharm have queries related to status they will query with Fred directly (after 4 business days at a given status) either via an in-progress ticket or via raising a new query.

The Fred Help team are available to provide mutual customers with assistance that relates to Fred Dispense Plus operations use, including any troubleshooting associated with the integration methods provided by Fred and awareness of the integration methods used by Intellipharm. This does not extend to third party handling of and/or receipt of data provided by the integration methods, which should be raised with the Intellipharm Support Contact Points (see below).
