Australian Medicines Handbook (AMH)

AMH is an AppBar integration for Fred Dispense Plus that helps you find medicines-related information within AMH Online for medications being dispensed. Use of AMH Online requires logging in with your AMH subscription credentials.

Instructional Summary

When the Australian Medicines Handbook app displays the AMH logo, click it to open a browser panel at AMH Online.

When the Australian Medicines Handbook app displays Search or Search for ... online, click to go to the AMH Online search for the current drug or brand. The AMH tile displays the drug generic name for the drug selected during dispensing or when editing a script. Click the tile to display medicines-related information within AMH Online.

You can log into AMH Online using your username and password within the browser panel.

Integration Events

The integration uses Dispense Events to receive information from Fred Dispense Plus for use in enabling the AMH integration to function.

The following Dispense Events are used:

  • ScriptCancelled
  • ScriptCompleted *1
  • ScriptNew
  • ScriptReset
  • ScriptSame
  • ScriptEdit * 1,2
  • DrugSelected * 2
*1 ScriptCompleted and ScriptEdit events contain information that is personally identifiable, including Patient and Prescriber identifiers. Refer to the notes below in relation to use by AMH.

*2 Data within the ScriptEdit and DrugSelected Events is utilised rather than the Events themselves. This relates to identifying the medications being dispensed or edited.

ScriptCompleted

Used in understanding that processing of the script and related medication has been completed, resulting in medication information displayed on the tile being cleared in preparation for next dispensing actions. The Event itself, rather than the data it contains, is used for the integration to function. No personally identifiable information within this event is used, accessed, stored or transmitted by AMH.

ScriptEdit

Used to load the medication information for a previously dispensed script that is being edited. This Event includes data that is personally identifiable however the information used by AMH is not personally identifiable; the data associated with medications is used, rather than Patient and/or Prescriber data. No personally identifiable information within this event is used, accessed, stored or transmitted by AMH.

Integration Operations

The integration uses Dispense Operations to request and receive information from Fred Dispense Plus for use in enabling the AMH integration to function.

The following Dispense Operations are used:

  • GetWorkerContext

GetWorkerContext

Information related to the currently logged in user including pharmacy identifiers is requested and provided; the integration uses the pharmacies approval number.
