Connecting to suppliers via MedView eXchange

Launched in Feb 2022, MedView eXchange is a comprehensive electronic ordering and invoicing gateway for pharmacy. Just like existing gateway services, MedView eXchange allows a simple and efficient mechanism for a pharmacy to send an order directly from their stock management system to their supplier and receive an electronic invoice from the supplier directly into their system.

MedView eXchange provides all the capability and benefits of existing electronic ordering gateways. Furthermore, MedView eXchange:

  • Is built on a modern cloud platform with security baked into the design.

  • Gives suppliers choice in how they access critical industry connectivity.

  • Offers an alternative—there is no longer a single point of failure for pharmacy ordering and invoicing.

When will my pharmacy start using the MedView eXchange gateway?

  1. A secure connection to MedView eXchange will automatically be established as part of your Fred Office Plus 5.0 update. This enables Fred Office Plus to be ready when your suppliers connect to MedView eXchange.

  2. When your supplier chooses MedView eXchange as their preferred EDI exchange this will trigger those account/s in Fred Office Plus to automatically send orders via MedView eXchange. A notification will be sent to all pharmacies when this occurs but will not require any action on your behalf.

    There will be no interruption to your normal ordering processing and you will not see any change to your workflow.
