What's new in Fred Dispense?

For sites using eRx Express Paperless, a Data Matrix barcode will now be printed on the Coding Sticker section of Dispense labels.
This change increases the accuracy rate of scanning when using eRx Express Paperless to near 100%.

From 1 July 2016, the ability to dispense from charts has been extended from a limited selection of trial sites to all hospitals.
Fred Dispense has been updated to comply with this legislative requirement.
To use this functionality, you must update your version of Fred Connect to version 20160701.
To dispense a chart script:
- Select a patient.
The selected patient must be assigned to a hospital.
- From the List menu, select Nursing Homes/Public Hospitals, then set the relevant Facility Type:
- Private Hospital
- Public Hospital
- (Mandatory) Enter the Hospital Provider Number.
If the Hospital Provider Number entered is incorrect, Fred Dispense displays a blue error message.
- Press <CTRL + SHIFT + C> to start a chart script.
When Chart dispensing is activated, the Hospital Provider Number is automatically populated and read-only.
- (Mandatory) In the Medication Chart Item Detail dialog, set the relevant Patient Category:
- Inpatient
- Discharge
- Outpatient
Patient Category has no default values, but the value used previously for this patient is remembered when this patient is selected again.
- Set the Chart Start Date, then its Duration.
The duration of charts is either 4, 6 or 12 months.
The final date for the supply of medicine is End Date + 1 and is now consistent with Community pharmacies.
- Click OK to close.
- Select a drug.
Drugs eligible for chart dispensing are prefixed with c.
- Complete the dispensing as per normal process.
What's fixed in Fred Dispense?

The logo remains unchanged.

When searching for an Own Brand Drug, you can now enter the first few letters of the drug name to display matching results. The search functionality for Own Brand is now aligned throughout Fred Dispense.

Fred Dispense no longer displays a red Error Number: 1925, when dispensing multiple scripts for the same patient.
This error used to occur when clicking the Patient Name or Repeat No field (in the Wait screen), instead of clicking the Same button to start dispensing the next script.
This issue has now been resolved.

In the Drug Usage report, the font size used has been reduce to ensure High Cost items are displayed correctly.

In the Safety Net Report, the value for TPX and SPX discounted items is now correct.

The S8 reports (to disk) has been modified to include the Prescriber's street address (if it is available).
