Pharmacy Connect 2017 Conference
1-3 September 2017, Hilton Sydney
Following on from the success of the inaugural Pharmacy Connect in 2016, Pharmacy Connect 2017 is being held on 1-3 September at the Hilton Sydney. Pharmacy Connect was developed to meet the need identified by pharmacy owners, pharmacy managers and manufacturers for an industry conference in the second half of the year. Fred will be located at stand 25 showcasing Fred NXT and MedView.
Change to eRx Scanning Behaviour
In some cases, an eRx barcode can be read incorrectly by the scanner, and is scanned in with missing characters. When you submit an incorrectly-scanned script to eRx, it will return an error.
Previously, if an eRx script returned an error, the incorrect SCID would remain in the Patient Name or Repeat No field. If you pressed [Enter], the incorrect SCID would be submitted to eRx again, and would return an error again.
Now, if a scanned script returns an error, the Patient Name or Repeat No field is cleared so that you can re-scan the script.
Queensland Controlled Drug Reporting Changing from Monthly to Weekly from 1 October
To improve the accuracy and currency of patient specific S8 prescription history available for doctors via the 13S8INFO service, pharmacists in Queensland are asked to increase the frequency of S8 dispensing reports to weekly, rather than monthly, beginning 1 October 2017.
The Medicines Regulation and Quality Unit will work with each pharmacy over the coming 2 months to assist with this transition, and reduce the impact of the more frequent reporting on pharmacists.
For more details, please contact the Queensland Government Department of Health.
Coming Soon: International Harmonisation of Ingredient Names
Fred Dispense will soon be ready for the Therapeutic Goods Administration's program to update medicine ingredient names to their current international names.
To help you and your patients through the changeover, we are working to enable the display of original drug names alongside their new names in Fred Dispense, as well as on script labels, repeat forms, receipts, and reports.
Our plan to release IHIN compatibility in September has been delayed, as there are flow-on effects to Fred Pak. Because of this, there will be a Fred Pak release in the near future, which will enable IHIN and also deliver enhancements requested by our customers.
