L15 Sig This Medicine Replaces _ Do Not Use Both

When dispensing an alternative generic brand it may be necessary to make the patient aware that the new brand replaces a previously-dispensed brand of medication. The L15 sig can assist with including this information on the dispensing label.

1. During dispensing, enter L15 in the Directions field.
   
2. Press [Enter] twice to move to the Pharmacist Initials field.
   
3. Press the [Left Arrow] to move the cursor to the expanded directions.
4. Enter the name of the medication that is being replaced.
   
5. Press [Enter] twice to return to the Pharmacist Initials field, then continue with dispensing.
