Chemotherapy: Choose a Different Vial Combination
When the Chemotherapy Dispensing Quantities screen is first displayed, Fred Dispense automatically selects the lowest cost combination of vials that makes up the dispensed dosage. If required, you can adjust the vial combination manually.
Whichever vial combination you select, your reimbursement will always be based on the lowest-cost combination. If you select a different combination, the cost difference will be displayed in the Drug Details box on the main dispensing screen.
- In the Used field next to a vial, enter the number of units of that vial you want to dispense.
-
Repeat step 1 until you have selected a combination of vials that makes up the required dosage.
Alternatively, to restore the default combination, click Reset.
-
To save your changes, press [End], or click Ok.
The Fred Dispense screen is displayed.
-
When you move from the QTY field to the Price field, the Drug Details box displays the cost difference between the lowest-cost combination and the combination you selected. The Drug Details box displays IV Infusion in place of the drug name.
The Script Label box displays the QTY as 1, rather than the dosage.
During the dispensing process, when you enter the Pharmacist Initials field, you cannot click the ellipses […] in the Drug Details box. If you want to enable the ellipses, navigate back to the Repeats or the Price field.
To compare the costing of the lowest-cost and the selected vial combinations: in the Drug Details box, click the browse button […] next to Cost Difference.
-
The Chemotherapy Dispensing Vial Costing window is displayed.
- To close the window and continue dispensing, click Ok.
