Continued Dispensing: PBS Claiming Notes

If you attempt to dispense a Continuous Dispensing supply for a patient who has had a previous Continued Dispensing supply of the same drug within the previous 12 months, PBS Online rejects the script, with message R 662. If you attempt to dispense a Continuous Dispensing supply for a drug the patient has never had dispensed, PBS Online returns warning W 663.

Dealing with rejected Continued Dispensing Supplies

If Medicare rejects a Continued Dispensing supply, you must discard the paperwork. You can choose to:

• Edit the prescription to Owing.
• Cancel the supply.
