Create a Clinical Intervention

There are three ways to initiate a Clinical Intervention.

  • Script Intervention for a known Dispense patient
  • Non-script Intervention for a known Dispense patient
  • Non-script Intervention for an unknown Dispense patient

Open the Clinical Intervention form

  1. From the Activities menu, select New Intervention Note ... (or press <ALT + I> or click in the toolbar.

    The Clinical Interventions form is displayed.

Script Intervention for a known Dispense patient

A script intervention can be performed at the Wait Screen for the selected script. To open the Clinical Intervention form, use the same procedure as above.

The pharmacist has a current script selected in Fred Dispense.

By default, the Intervention is a Script Intervention and the patient is a known Dispense patient.

  1. The Patient Name, Drug, Prescriber, etc … are already filled and cannot be edited.

  2. Fill in the Patient Gender and Age Range (if they are not displayed already).
  3. Enter your initials.

Non-script Intervention for a known Dispense patient

The pharmacist has selected a patient in Fred Dispense where a script has not been dispensed for the clinical intervention.

  1. Select or search for a patient.

    The patient record opens.

  2. Fill in the Patient Gender and Age Range (if they are not displayed already).
  3. (Optional) Select a Drug or enter a Description as to the reason for the Intervention.
  4. Enter your initials.

Non-script Intervention for an unknown Dispense patient

By default, a clinical Intervention for an unlisted patient is a non-script Intervention.

  1. Open the Intervention form.
  2. Flag the patient as an Unlisted Patient.
  3. Fill in the Patient Name or Description.
  4. Fill in the Patient Gender and Age Range.
  5. (Optional) Select a Drug or enter a Description as to the reason for the Intervention.
  6. Enter your initials.
