Cash drop

Cash Drop and No Sale

A drop is used to deposit large amounts of cash or cheques during an open shift to either a store safe or bank branch. It is a good idea for managers to perform cash drawer amounts at different times throughout the day. If required, the relevant drop (Bank Drop or Safe Drop) can be performed in Fred NXT POS. To avoid customer queues, whenever possible, perform this procedure during quieter periods.

Perform a drop

  1. Log on to Fred NXT POS using your preferred method.
  2. Tap Manager Ops > Safe Drop.
  3. Answer Yes to continue with your selection.

The Drop amount window is displayed.

  4. Enter the drop amount for Cash, then tap OK.
  5. (If applicable) Repeat to enter the drop amount for Cheque, then tap OK.
  6. At the prompt Are you sure that you want to write these amounts to the database?, tap Yes.

If you select a Bank Drop, you will be prompted to enter a Bank Bag number. This is optional.

  7. Tap OK to continue.

The cash drawer opens and Fred NXT POSreturns to the main screen, ready for the next transaction.

The title of the receipt matches your Drop selection: Safe Drop or Bank Drop. These descriptions and amounts are also included on your end of day Z report printout.
