Linked and Where-Linked Products

Inventory and Puchasing

These features can be used for companion selling. As one product is sold, companion products are automatically added to the transaction at the point of sale. Stock is deducted and a transaction is recorded against the companion item.

Linked products

  1. Navigate to Fred NXT Head Office > Merchandising and click Released Products.

  2. Search for your product, then click to open the product card.
  3. In the Retail tab, click Linked Products.

  4. Fill in the relevant fields:

    Unit

    Select the unit of measure of the main product.

    When a unit of the main product is purchased, the purchase triggers the sale of the linked product.

    Linked product number

    Select the product number of the product to link to the sale of the main product.

    This is required. You cannot link items by name.

    Product name

    The name of the product that you selected in Linked product number.

    This will auto-populate.

    QuantityEnter the number of linked products that are sold together with the main product.

    Any item added to the Llinked products form cannot have linked products of their own.

Where-Linked Products

Where-linked products display all instances where the product is attached (linked) to a released product for companion selling.

  1. Navigate to Fred NXT Head Office > Merchandising and click Released Products.
  2. Search for your product, then click to open the product card.
  3. In the Retail tab, click Where-Linked-Products to view the products linked to the selected products.

    You cannot add, edit or delete where-linked items from the Where-linked products screen. To make changes, first locate the main product, then open the Linked products screen (as explained above).

    If you want to prevent companion products from appearing at the POS, you can leave linked items attached to products and set Qty to 0.
