Enhanced scan check

Enhanced Scan Check checks that the dispensed drug details on the prescription label correspond with the item package selected. This feature is enabled by default in Fred Dispense Plus.
Enhanced scan check
- Upon completion of dispensing, a unique barcode will print on the prescription label.
- Scan the prescription label barcode.
The scan check screen is displayed.
You can scan a prescription label barcode from any part of the Dispense screen.
- Scan the corresponding item packaging APN/barcode.
- If the label barcode and the item barcode match, the following message is displayed: The scanned item is correct.
- If the label barcode and the item barcode do NOT match, the following message is displayed: Press F11 to Continue ....
Press F11 to return to the field on the Main Dispense form where the scancheck was initiated.
- If the label barcode and the item barcode have already been scanned, the following message is displayed: Already successfully scanned.
- Complete the process for all dispensed items.
When using scan check for dispensing multiple packs, the Wait screen displays the following flags:
- indicates all packs have been scanned.
- indicates only some packs have been scanned.
- indicates that some packs have been incorrectly scanned.
If you attempt to exit the Drug Adjudication screen while there is still an incorrectly scanned label, Fred Dispense Plus displays a red Information Message. Press F11 to return the Drug Adjudication and continue scanning.
